An Event in History That will impact the Health, Wellness and Fitness of Today.

Imagine being part of an historic event that would stump scientist for a hundred years.   On June 30, 1908 over Tunguska in Central Siberia, there was an explosion that released energy that has been compared to 10-20 million tons of TNT.  It devastated 850 square miles of uninhabited Siberian taiga and felled more than a million trees.  What remained was chard, flattened trees and ash. It was assumed by mainstream science that the Tunguska explosion was caused by a meteorite, yet is impossible to explain how the object could have exploded in mid air.  The exact nature of the body that exploded and its origin remain a mystery which has spurred countless theories and controversies, that continue today.

The miracle was that no one was killed in this devastating blast. The Evenke people  of this area, were nomadic and it is said that the shaman got an early warning. Two months earlier, rumors started that “the end of the world” was coming. Imagine the shaman of the time dressed in ceremonial clothes covered with attached pieces of iron, which they believed had magical powers.  Shiny mirrors represented the places in the universe that the shaman traveled for help from the deities. On his head is an iron crown with antlers.  His clothes have rows of rattles and bells to make noise and he beats a large skin-covered tambourine as he arouses everyone's attention.  His ceremony signaled the tribe that it was time to move, and they followed his direction, because he was trusted by the community.

The wild animals began to leave, as if obeying some inner sense and the pronouncement of the shamans. The birds flew from away, the swans left the lakes and the fish disappeared from the rivers. An immense expanse of taiga lost its fauna. Only those who did not believe the shamans' words remained in the danger zone. This story has been preserved in the ancestral memory of the local population and passed down through the years in an ancient epic poem called The Olonkho, which was written long before the event and serves as a prophecy to what was coming.

The natal chart of the Tunguska blast is striking when it is analyzed in detail. There is suggestion of a clear sign of some kind, or possibly a warning being given. It is noteworthy that the explosion didn’t kill a single human being, but was easily witnessed by a variety of methods including eyewitnesses to seismographs to barographs. It  would take scientist  20 years to get into the remote area of the explosion.  The first scientist to reach the area was Leonid  A. Kulik, in 1921, who spent ten years studying the area.  It was one of the Evenki people who eventually led Kulik to the impact site. Scientists have speculated for a long time that it was the result of an impact of an asteroid or comet, but the nature and composition of the Tunguska Cosmic Body remains a mystery. There has been speculation, on the other end of the continuum of UFO’s involvement or Nicholas Tesla’s ‘Death Ray”, causing the explosion. There was no radiation found in the area and no evidence to support those theories.  After nearly a century of study and research, scientists are still unclear about what occurred deep in the Siberian wilderness of Tunguska, Russia.   Different factions of the scientific community have been kept busy debating this issue.  In 2007 Italian researchers from the University of Bologna found evidence that a 164-foot-deep Lake Cheko is the site of a meteor impact that participated in the Tunguska Blast. It is believed that there is actually three craters.  With modern testing equipment they may just get to the bottom of this mystery.

Health and Fitness Benefits Discovered in the Aftermath.

What was found in the aftermath of the explosion is even more incredible. It is as though a phoenix has risen from the ashes. Today, one hundred years after the explosion the Tunguska Valley has become an oasis. Network Marketing...isn't that one of those pyramid schemes?...No, those are illegal!

Network marketing is the most powerful marketing system in the world. It's the most efficient way ever created for moving a product from the manufacturer to the consumer. It has taken 50 years to perfect network marketing and now in the 21st century it is rapidly becoming the entrepreneurs' success vehicle of choice!  We are in what is called 'wave three" of network marketing where everything is done on the internet and you don't have to stock tons of product in your garage, like you used to. Network Marketing is a business model that supports financial freedom, community building and mentorship and also is trying to shake off bad mythology that plagues the industry. Network marketing is legal and it is not a pyramid scheme and is one of the best kept secrets in America.  It has to follow stricter regulations than any other industry. Corporate America, the true pyramid scheme, has created a lot of the mythology around network marketing as a smoke screen to keep people away from it.

Why is network marketing the best kept secret?  There are a number of reasons including, it is still  suspect to many people because before it was regulated there were scams in the industry.  Another reason as you will find out is that corporate America would rather it stay under the shroud because they fear they will lose ground if network marketing gains ground.  Many people are discovering it is a way to financial freedom like never before.

     Many people are attracted to network marketing because it fits the current marketing trends. It is clear to see that the 'Baby Boomers" (those born between 1946 and 1964) are a huge segment of the population and they are in control of the trends. Salespeople get commission, and sales managers get overrides or bonuses on top of that, and sales directors on top of that, and VPs on top of that. In network marketing you come into a line of other business owners and if you do what it takes to create a successful business you can by pass those at the top with your income. No one is stuck at the bottom.

    It never ceases to amaze me the extreme polar views on the topic of network marketing and MLM. Some people are passionate about it in the extreme, proud to call themselves professional network marketers. There are even top celebrity authors like Robert Allen, Mark Victor Hansen, and Robert Kiyosaki doing it and advocating it. Billionaire Warren Buffet even bought a network marketing company because it was such a good investment.  Like he really needs another good investment!  Yet, in many circles, you might as well declare yourself a leper as admit to being in network marketing. I know for myself when I first told people I was involved in a network marketing company things got pretty quiet. I tried to get my brothers and sister together for dinner and my older brother said “ You are not going to try to sell us something are you?” He has a PHD in theology, but I would never assume that he would call everyone to a dinner party so he could talk theology.  Just because I had started a new business he assumed I was going to cram it down his throat. The other strange thing is I am sure he buys prescription drugs and vitamins from companies he knows nothing about and yet he trust them more than his own sister to sell him something that is good for him.  Go figure!

     Certainly, there are illegal pyramid, or "Ponzi", schemes. This is where the money is all being made off of signing up other people, with little or no real product ever being delivered. The pyramid schemes of the 80’s that involved investing money to get to the top were outlawed in the 80’s.  But in spite of whatever perceptions people may have, the fact is that Amway, Meleleuca, PrePaid Legal, USANA, Mary Kay and Avon and many others have sold millions of dollars of products to happy customers, many of whom are not also reps. So, there may be a perception problem here, but if so, the perception is out of line with the reality. People take offense at the fact that you have to pay to participate in it but that is also a standard franchising model. The franchise fee of most traditional franchises dwarf the sign-up cost of any MLM or network marketing program by comparison.

     It has been interesting to watch friends who were very close to me don their garlic necklaces and put up an energetic hand in my face when they see me coming, as though I have contracted the plague because I joined a network marketing company. What I want to share with them is a platform that will help their entire life expand. An opportunity that can bring health and financial freedom and I hear things like “ I don’t want to hear anything more about this,” or “ what have you gotten yourself into”, “Oh, that is just some get rich scheme”, and similar remarks. What I have ‘gotten myself into’ is an opportunity to break free of the old paradigm of poverty consciousness and create a life and lifestyle that will allow me to do what I truly came to do. Many of the same people, who are closing their minds to the idea of network marketing also professed to higher dreams of having an impact on the world. The truth is that without financial freedom you can barely impact yourself. It cost money to eat organic, buy nutritional supplements, have body work done and meet your basic needs. There is no room in the budget to do something to impact the world on a larger scale, except maybe through prayer, and I don’t think that is what people are saying when they say they want to impact the world.

    It actually saddens me that network marketing still lives in the shadows of earlier models that did have intrinsic problems.  The new third wave network marketing business, which are around today are the future.  The hardest part for me is to know that I have products that are changing people’s health and people who could benefit from them are  turning the other way because of the mythology that still haunts network marketing.   It also saddens me to see people struggling financially, working very hard to make very little money, and I have found a system where everyone can excel, and have what ever level of income they desire,  but they won’t even entertain the idea because they think it is a pyramid scheme.  The interesting thing is people who know me know I won’t get involved in something that was out of integrity and yet the mythology is stronger than what they know to be true.

    Every time we consciously do something to improve ourselves, a ripple effect occurs in the universe. We are not the only ones affected by our actions. As Wallace Wattles said, "... all men and women are attracted to an individual who can give them more of the means of life." When we talk about network marketing we must also mention the inner potential and absolute power of maximizing time, money and energy to nurture our self-improvement endeavors that can create a difference for others and that's the spiritual network of self, family, and friends.  Network marketing it the perfect platform for expanding consciousness because your issues are brought to light in the process.  When you are afraid to talk with people, lack trust in yourself or the product or lack confidence people show up to reflect those deficits back to you.  If someone is rejecting your business opportunity or product, look to yourself to see where your own resistance is.  You will notice that when you shift a particular issue it will stop showing up around you. 

Here are 12 reasons to consider a network marketing business:

    1) There is no ceiling on your income potential, only the ceiling that you create for yourself. There is huge income potential and your income can become as large as you like it to be, depending on the work you are willing to put in to it. This can’t be said for the 9 to 5 job where there is no leverage, and no matter how hard you work, how many hours you put in  there is a glass ceiling on your income level. And if you stop working the money stops coming in.

    2) You are creating a stream of residual income that will keep coming in after you quit working, while you are on vacation and even when you sleep.  There is work involved, on the front end to build a good foundation but than you have the leverage of the combined efforts of your downline which makes your income exponentially growing.

    3) You get to work form the comfort of your own home. There’s nothing like working at home especially if it is bad weather or you are not feeling that well. You don’t have to drive 20 miles through rush hour traffic to get to the job. Now imagine waking up in the morning,  taking a nice deep breath and realizing that you don’t have to go out in that at all.  That is a reason for gratitude!

    4) Most network marketing companies have superior products and often the products become free when your income becomes balanced with the cost of the products. I got another reminder not to underestimate how protected I am yesterday.  I have been sick for about a week so I haven't been as attentive.  In fact for a few days I just wanted to leave my body because I felt so bad.

Last night I had gone to the third floor of my house, which is where my bedroom is and I was watching the latest Spiritual Cinema Circle movie.  I noticed I was getting a sharp head ache in the back of my head and was a little disoriented, but thought it must be from my cold.  Suddenly I had the urge to go down to the second floor where I started to smell bacon cooking.  I haven't cooked bacon for a long time so that got my attention.  I followed the smell to the kitchen were I discovered that one of my burners was on.  There was no flame but it was stil on.  I had used it about ten hours earlier when I was making home made soup and apparently did not turn it off all of the way.

I opened up windows to get fresh air into the house and my head ache quickly went away.

Who knows what might have happened I hadn't discovered it and just went to bed.

This past month has been a flurry of activity and discovery for me. I was talking to a friend on the phone one day, expressing my frustration about having to work. It is not that I don't want to work, I want to play at what I love to do and get paid at the same time. The turning point in the conversation came when I said " I can't quit my job!". When I heard these words tumble from my mouth I got angry. That fact that I felt I was trapped in something that I couldn't get out of was what made me angry.

 I work part-time for a nonprofit agency, doing in-home family therapy and I rely on this job to pay my bills. Because of the state that the agency is in right now we were just told that we would only get a 1.5% raise in pay this year. Trust me, this is not a lot of money. As I looked into the future, if I stayed with this job, receiving a 1.5%-3% pay raise per year, I would probably never be able to retire and do what I came here to do. I know for a fact that I am not alone on this treadmill. The program of financial support that most of us are caught up in keeps us from ever reaching financial freedom. We are in essence working to support someone else dream at the expense of our own.

 When I heard the words " I can't quit my job!" come out of me it catapulted me into action this time. It was like the final key, in a series of locks that opened the door for me to see the world of financial prosperity in a new way. A couple weeks before this conversation I had become an Independent Business Owner in a network marketing company which has a fabulous line of health and wellness products, including Tunguska Blast which is changing peoples lives around the world. I was drawn to this company because of a teacher/friend who invited me to join and the fact that the level of consciousness of the people that were involved was a match for where I am in my own evolution. I was drawn to the idea of using this business to explore the laws of attraction in action. I had taken a leap of faith in joining at the level I joined and it was this leap of faith that said to the Universe " I am not fooling around any more!" and " I am serious about becoming a conscious co-creator of my life and experiencing financial freedom". I also like the fact that everyone involved in our organization are collaborating as a team to create health, wealth, wisdom and freedom for all of us. Working solo to make this happen sure hasn't work for me so far and a 1.5% raise is not going to get me there very quick either.

 Financial freedom is a foreign concept for many of us. In my parents generation people had just survived the Great Depression and it was important to keep working at the same job so they could support their family and retire with benefits. My father, like many in his generation, "worked hard for his money." Unfortunately over all the years he worked, he never looked happy to me. I am sure he had secret dreams that never got fulfilled and less than two years after he retired, he passed away. The dream of working to retire with benefits was lost to him too.

 I have secret dreams and I am committed to seeing them manifest! The only way that can happen is if I have money. How many of us were taught that money "is the root of all evil" or "money doesn't grow on trees"? The energy behind these statement and many others we have heard about money is that money is bad and it is hard to get. If you take that a step further, anyone who has money must also be suspect. Deep in our programing is a foundation for lack consciousness. It is no ones fault it started long ago and has been passed down from generation to generation and it is a program that is about to come apart because it is not supporting us in our evolution. How many of you have said, " I can't afford that", or " I don't have enough money to buy that"? Thoughts like that re-enforce lack and create more of it. Many of us have secret dreams of things we want to do, things we want to achieve and things we want to create and they have less of a chance of manifesting as long as we are working to support someone else's dream so we can pay the bills. I know many people who are working 2 or 3 jobs to pay their bills.

 Only six percent of the population in the US makes salaries that range in the six-figure digits and above, which means there is poverty consciousness is still very much alive in our world. The minimum wage in the US is $5.85 per hour, effective July 24th 2007. Many people are working for $10.00-$15.00 an hour but that is still just enough to make ends meet if they are lucky. Especially with annual inflation. Many " Baby Boomers" have little money saved for retirement and many of us have not stayed long enough at one job to get retirement benefits. That is not crime, but I know that we could each give up a bit of our relative poverty consciousness to adopt some 'millionaire' consciousness. Do you know that millionaires have a completely different way of thinking about money?

 Millionaire Consciousness would include:
 * taking responsibility for what you have and what you want to create
 *seeing obstacles as opportunities and not a sign of failure
 * expecting the best and taking action accordingly
 *having a positive attitude
 * creating wealth by serving others as well as yourself
 * taking bigger action than you think you can
 * doing what scares you
 * keeping anything or anyone that does not support you away
 * taking care of your life as if it already were a millionaire's life

 Thinking about being a millionaire is a bold move and it takes bold moves to shift consciousness. Millionaire consciousness is not just about money, though money is the outcome, it is about optimism, taking action, taking risks and holding the best vision for yourself. It is an inner process of feeling like a million "bucks". Money is a form of energy and one many of us didn't learn how to use very well. When I was growing up I had no idea how much money was coming into the house, I just knew there wasn't enough of it.  No one ever sat down with me and taught me how to use money. It wasn't taught in school or at home. I had to figure out what to do with money the hard way.

 Several months ago I created a dream process called " Mesa Dreaming" that is a powerful way of clearing unconscious blocks and beliefs. I am currently using the process to clear out anything that is blocking me from experiencing, expressing and embodying Millionaire Consciousness. The more clearing I do the more I am creating a life of financial abundance. The following dream is a result of this process:

 June 28th-07
 I was in my car, with the door open and my computer was outside of the car. I used a remote control to turn it off because I couldn't reach it. I was in my e-mail program at the time. As I deleted the last e-mail I watched as all of the megapixals broke down, like they were melting, and I knew a virus had just taken over my computer.  I was really upset because that meant that all of my memory was gone. Someone told me an 800 number I could call and they would send all of my memory back because it was all stored some place. I was able to get it all back without losing everything.

 This is a powerful dream metaphor for how our mind is programmed. I was curious to read about the meaning of 'computer virus" so I did a search and this is what I found:

 A computer virus is a computer program that can copy itself and infect a computer without permission or knowledge of the user. ( our childhood programing) The original may modify the copies or the copies may modify themselves, as occurs in a metamorphic virus. (Our beliefs are passed down from generation to generation) Some viruses are programmed to damage the computer by damaging programs, deleting files or reformatting the hard disk. (Social programming damages our original blueprint). Others are not designed to do any damage, but simply replicate themselves and perhaps make their presence know by presenting text, video, or audio messages.( those useless thoughts that spin around in our heads and the pictures and messages they create) Even these benign viruses can create problems for the computer user. They typically take up computer memory used by legitimate programs. As a result, they often cause erratic behavior and can result in system crashes!!( no kidding!)

 There are many viruses operating in the general Internet today, and new ones are created and discovered every day. Poverty and lack are like viruses and we can transcend them and become virus proof and in the process maybe even become millionaires. I love the part in the dream about being able to call an 800 number and have all of your original memory returned to you! Its always there and can't be erased. That 800 number is our original blueprint, it is our higher self where the memory creating a prosperous life is stored. People are stepping forward to help us remember by reminding us how to use the laws of attraction and change our thoughts.

 The deeper I go into this dream process the more I am starting to think like a millionaire in my waking consciousness! A few weeks ago I wouldn't have been able to write this article. I would have had a voice in my head saying " Who do you think your are to want to be a millionaire!" It wouldn't be bad being a millionaire, not because I want to have money to buy all kinds of material things but because it would allow me the time and resources to help others in ways that I can't right now. This would include creating a nonprofit foundation to support children and women around the world who are challenged. Money would also give me time and resources to open up to my creative expression completely so I can fully express my creativity. Money would support me to do my mission. If I stick with my job and continue to get 1.5% raises every year, I will have to come back some other time and do my mission. Wouldn't it be fun to have money to buy things when you want them, to travel and enjoy life without wondering where you would get the money to do it? Money is just another source of energy and if all of our energy systems are clear we can be millionaires in all kinds of ways.

 As we move from the age of Piscean energy to the Aquarian age, we can already feel great shifts and changes happening. Many of the fundamental traditions are splintering and disintegrating from within, as institutionalized power structures age and fall. Thank God! The distribution of wealth in the world is one of them. The old ways are not working and we are being driven to find what is real and authentic. Why should the distribution of wealth be so lopsided? The soul of the new consumer demands authenticity and truth. As we search for new solutions we will become more aware of our own divinity, authority and power. People are stepping forward to share with us new ways to navigate our health, wealth and freedom as we evolve in this new age. The movie "The Secret" has been so well received for this very reason. People want a change, we are tired of being slaves to money, the system, etc.

We forget the magic we witnessed as children when we become adults. It seems to have
disappeared and though we have forgotten it, it hasn't forgotten us. Life goes on magically around us whether we notice it or not.  That magic and enchantment of childhood is always there.  The circus is a magical place and a way to remember life's magic and my daughter, Carrie and I entered that magical world on our trip to Mexico at the end of May.

We stayed on Isla Mujeres, an island off of Cancun for 8 days and in Tulum for 2 days. I am always struck by the simplicity of Mexico and how "real" it is. In my experience, things are pretty loose in Mexico, time is fluid and so is money. From the news stories, to the way they live, little is controlled or contrived, except for what they create for the American tourist. Tourist attractions are not real.  When I travel I like to find the places that are not over run by tourists because this is a way to get a true experience of a different culture. The absolute best way to experience a different culture is to learn the language and Spanish is a language I want to learn because of my love of Mexico and South America. At this point Spanish is a struggle for me, but I still manage to navigate.

The Circus Magico Modelo was an opportunity to experience a slice of Isla Mujeres and a
taste of magic.  We discovered the circus tent in the distance as we drove around the island on a golf cart, which is the popular mode of transportation for visitors to the island.  After visiting a couple of tourist attractions we explored La Gloria, the neighborhood where the Mexican's who live on the island have their homes.  While we were driving along the lagoon I spotted a big tent in the distance and our curiosity drove us to the large blue and white striped tent that could be seen for over a mile.  There we found a traditional Mexican circus springing out of the sand at the edge of the lagoon. Of course we wanted to go! The following morning I asked a taxi driver, who spoke "a little"English, about the "Circo"( pronounced Seerko) and he said it started at 8 PM and told us it had been there for a month and there
was only a week left.  One of the clowns in the circus was his brother.

It rained off and on all day but we were determined to go anyway. At 7:30 we walked out of our casa just as a taxi was driving by so we didn't even have to contend with the rain, which by then had temporarily stopped. Carrie laughed at me through out the trip at my attempts to speak Spanish, and even though I butchered a lot of words we managed to communicate and get where we were going. We got into the Taxi and I said " La Gloria, por favor" because I didn't know how to say, "we are going to the Circus in La Gloria, could you drive us there?."  He drove about a mile, stopped at the corner and with a sweep of his hands said, "La Gloria!"  I said " Circo" and he said, " Oh, Circo!" and drove us a few more blocks to the circus.

It was 7:45 and it didn't look much like a circus was going to happen so Carrie and I walked a couple of blocks to a playground where a group of young Mexican boys were shooting hoops.  When they saw us sit down on a bench at the other end of the playground they switched to the hoop closest to us and started showing us their best basketball skills.  By the looks of it, Gringos were not a commodity in the neighborhood.  Each time someone shot and missed we all laughed and when someone shot and made it we all cheered. I would throw up my arms and say "woohoo" and one of the boys would copy me.  When they made a basket, all the children shouted "Sopa" which means, soup in Spanish.  We didn't know why they were shouting 'soup' for a basket but we joined in each time a basket was made.  Soon Carrie had joined them and it was so cute to watch these little boys flirt with my darling daughter and  try to impress her with their shooting skills. When they discovered she was really playing the game all of them got more serious and there was a lot of blocking, checking and trying to out shoot each other. While I sat on the bench watching two children joined me on the bench. A girl named Amarosa and a little boy about 3 years old sat next to me and played with the rings and bracelets on my hand while the little girl looked up at mean and said " muy bonito".

About 8:30 I walked back to the circus to find out when and if there would be a circus tonight. I said "Que hora es la Circo?" to the two boys selling tickets.  They told me in Spanish but I wasn't sure what they were saying.  That is the problem if you try to speak Spanish and don't know very much.  People assume you know how the language and speak to you as if you do. I asked if they spoke English and they both shook their heads "no" but pointed to an older gentleman who was approaching us.  He told me the circus started at "about" 9 PM and the tickets were 10 pesos, the equivalent to $1, per person. He told me he would wait by the gate for my daughter and I to return.

At 8:45 Carrie finished her basketball game and we walked to the Big Top where people had
started to gather in the dark.  I climbed the three metal steps to the ticket window, which
was carved out of the side of a semi- truck, that probably carried all the circus equipment, to purchase two tickets.  I was told it was 20 pesos per person instead of 10 and of course the elderly gentlemen was not around to say different. The young man who was helping was playing a joke on people so as I handed the ticket seller my money a big furry black rubber spider dropped down on my hand and I jumped back and we all laughed.  At the entrance to the circus I saw the man I had spoken to earlier, all decked out in his satin circus dress attire looking quite distinguished as he gathered people's tickets.

We entered the big top which was dark and dimly lit by bulbs hanging from bare wires, nothing like the high tech circus' we have in the United States. I was grateful in a way. Chairs made of red molded plastic, advertising Coke a Cola, formed a ring 5 deep around the main stage.  I use the term main stage loosely as there was only one stage.  Carrie and I sat in boxed seats right in the front row.  A boxed seat consisted of two red molded plastic chairs enclosed by a white wrought iron fence with a star in the center.  Carrie and I were the only
non-mexicans in an audience of a couple of hundred people. Soon we had children all around us.  A darling little brown skinned girl with big brown eyes and long brown hair sat next to me and said " Circo!".   I looked at her and smiled and she said " Muy bonito" to me while a girl behind her played with my bracelets as the circus began. I think we were quite a
novelty for the children.

This was no Barnum and Bailey Circus or Cirque du Soleil but for 2 dollars each we got quite a show. Children walked through the crowd selling popcorn, Jell-O and soda pop so we bought a bag of popcorn to share. The Circus started at 9:20 as it poured outside, dropping rain on the crowd through the holes and cracks in the canvas of the big top.  In the misty darkness of the tent I found myself wondering what would happen if the lights shorted out from the water,which dripped in, or lightning struck the tent, or a big gust of wind dislodged the metal poles precariously holding up the roof, but those thoughts were chased away by the action beginning on the main stage.

This was a circus complete with clowns, jugglers and satin clothing, sequence and glitter. We were awe struck by the young man in a black satin tuxedo who ate flames from burning torches, before drinking gasoline from a coke bottle and sending flames from his mouth so high they almost touched the top of the tent. Action unfolded one after another.  A man and woman, beautifully dressed in shiny satin and sparkles came out holding hands.  She climbed to a platform and was spun around as her partner threw 8 knives at her, missing her every time.  As if this wasn't enough, he put on two blindfolds and and did it again, shocking the crowd as each knife stuck into the boards beside her.  Afterward they held hands and bowed to the crowd and asked for a volunteer from the audience.  The man from the audience stood on the platform and as he was strapped in he waved good bye to his wife and new baby.  Knives flew through the air once again and each one stuck into the board next to him and he was able to return to his family unscathed.

There was an intermission with more Jell-O, popcorn and soda and the circus continued.  I
was told that it would last about an hour and a half, "depending on what we do" and it
lasted for two hours, longer than promised.  Later I learned that the circus was in town
for a month and each night they did a different routine.  I don't know if that is true of all circus' because I only went once a year when I was a kid.

The circus ended with a clown act that took place at a makeshift restaurant. One of the
patrons was a clown bum dressed in a black satin suit with a face painted like Emit Kelly.  He came on stage dragging a big stuffed dog by it's leash as though it was real. This dog had seen better days and appeared as if had been dragged through the sand many times. A real dog in the audience looked on in wonderment.  This long skit which was all in Spanish went on for a long time. We knew it was a comedy routine because the audience laughed a lot.

In the end, all the popcorn, Candied Apples and Jell-O were gone and the crowd filtered
out of the Big Top into the dark night, satisfied.  I can say this was the best circus experience I have ever had, even though there were no lions, tigers or bears! Carrie and I walked out with the crowd and into the La Gloria neighborhood, along the ocean road with visions of flame throwers and clowns speaking Spanish, dancing in our heads as guard dogs barked and growled in the dark, under the full moon. Magic was in our space.
